2. Data we collect

Depending on the features you use, we collect the following data:

  • Name and email address when creating an account or a subscription
  • Postal address for delivery of the print magazine
  • Password (stored hashed, never readable)
  • Stripe customer id when you make a payment — no card details ever pass through our own servers
  • Browsing data (pages viewed, duration, pseudonymised IP address) via our audience-measurement tools
  • Email address and preferences for sending newsletters

We do not collect any sensitive data within the meaning of Article 9 GDPR.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process your data for the following purposes:

  • Managing your account and subscription — performance of contract
  • Processing orders and payments — performance of contract
  • Sending transactional emails (confirmation, invoice, access) — performance of contract
  • Sending newsletters — consent (withdrawable at any time)
  • Audience measurement (PostHog EU Cloud, Google Analytics) — consent
  • Advertising personalisation (Meta Pixel, Google Ads, Google AdSense) — consent
  • Fraud prevention and site security — legitimate interest
  • Technical error monitoring (Sentry / GlitchTip) — legitimate interest
  • Retention of accounting records — legal obligation

4. Processors

Your data is shared with the following providers, strictly within the scope of their task:

  • Hetzner Online GmbH — hosting (Germany, EU)
  • Stripe, Inc. — payments (United States, governed by EU Standard Contractual Clauses)
  • Brevo — email sending (France, EU)
  • PostHog — product analytics (EU Cloud, data hosted in the EU)
  • Google Analytics — audience measurement (United States, governed by EU Standard Contractual Clauses), only after your consent
  • Meta (Facebook Pixel) — advertising measurement (United States, governed by EU Standard Contractual Clauses), only if you enable marketing cookies
  • Google Ads / Google AdSense — advertising delivery and measurement (United States, governed by EU Standard Contractual Clauses), only if you enable marketing cookies
  • Sentry / GlitchTip — technical error monitoring (self-hosted in the EU) — collection limited to browser error messages

No data is ever sold to third parties.

5. Retention periods

  • Account data: while the account is active, plus 3 years after the last login
  • Order and invoice data: 10 years (legal obligation)
  • Stripe payment token: for the duration of the business relationship, plus 13 months
  • Newsletter data: until consent is withdrawn or 3 years of inactivity
  • Browsing logs and analytics cookies: 13 months maximum

6. Cookies

We use three categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — session, authentication, security. They do not require your consent and cannot be disabled.
  • Audience-measurement cookies — PostHog (EU Cloud) and Google Analytics. Set only after your explicit agreement via the cookie banner.
  • Advertising-personalisation cookies — Meta Pixel, Google Ads, Google AdSense. Set only if you enable the « Advertising » category when making your choice. Disabled by default.

You can change your choice at any time from the « Manage cookies » link at the bottom of the page. In line with CNIL recommendations, your consent is requested again at least every 13 months, and whenever the list of processors changes.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights over your data:

  • Right of access: obtain a copy of your data
  • Right to rectification: correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure: request the deletion of your data
  • Right to restriction: temporarily suspend processing
  • Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Right to portability: receive your data in a reusable format
  • Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent previously given (newsletter, cookies) at any time

8. Minors

This site is not intended for children under 15. Under Article 8 of the GDPR, children under 15 must obtain the authorisation of a holder of parental authority before creating an account. If you believe a child has provided us with data without parental consent, please contact us at the address above.

9. Security

We implement appropriate measures to protect your data: encrypted exchanges over HTTPS, hashed passwords, payment processing handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI-DSS certified), and access restricted to authorised staff.

10. Complaints

11. Changes

This policy may be updated at any time. The date at the top of the document shows the version in force. In the event of a substantial change, you will be notified by email at least 30 days before it takes effect.
