Step 1: First round
– Go to **www.tangente-mag.com** between April 7 and April 21.
– Sign in (you need to register first, if you haven't already).
– Bet a percentage (to two decimal places) for each of the four or five candidates shown.
– You can change your bet up until the last moment.
Once the exact scores (percentage of the votes cast) are known, your number of points will be the sum of the absolute values of the differences between the percentage you bet and each candidate's score.
By betting on the first-round scores, you will also, indirectly, be betting on the two candidates who qualify for the second round. If you bet on both finalists, you will qualify for the second stage.
Step 2: Second round
– Go to **www.tangente-mag.com**between April 25 and May 5.
– Sign in
– Bet a percentage (to two decimal places) for each of the two finalists.
– You can change your bet up until the last moment.
Once the exact scores (percentage of the votes cast) are known, your number of points will be twice the sum of the absolute values of the differences between the percentage you bet and each candidate's score, added to your number of points from the first round.
Prizes: 5,000 euros in gift vouchers for books and magazines on mathematical culture.
Of the players who qualify for the second stage, the one with the lowest number of points will win first prize: a 250-euro gift voucher for POLE products. All those who qualify for the second stage will win a prize. In total, 5,000 euros in gift vouchers will be awarded.
