The Pop Math website (**popmath.eu)**, launched a year ago by the European Mathematical Society, is designed to provide an overview of the various public and professional mathematics events held across Europe (conferences, exhibitions, fairs…). Unfortunately, the pandemic prevented the platform from making a spectacular start, but it did give online events greater prominence.
Since content must be provided by the organizers, the site should grow in step with its popularity. So far, eighty events are listed for 2021, including more than thirty in France—still far from reflecting the wealth of events currently on offer, even in these troubled times.
A map shows where events are taking place and helps users find out what is happening near them. For now, searches cannot be filtered by type or date.
We can only applaud the initiative, even if it still seems to be finding its feet, and hope that it will prove a success.
