Yes, but "good" protractors are hard to come by. Even harder to find are versatile protractors, like this one, which not only makes it easy to draw an angle since the rulers are built in, but also makes it easy to read an angle's measurement, and on top of that, to measure the thickness of an object in terms of an angle. This ingenious instrument (see opposite) is the creation of the Japanese firm Shinwa, an expert in all sorts of measuring instruments, each more practical than the last.
In France too, ingenious "all-in-one" instruments have been designed and sold: ruler, set square, compass, protractor — the Rollertec (Eurodem) and the Thamographe (thaM thaM) are all of these at once. The former was awarded the gold medal at the 1999 Concours Lépine, the latter received the same award in 2013!
