Maths Night 2019

For its fifth edition, the Maths Night festival, held in the Loire Valley, will feature talks, shows, exhibitions and films, all with plenty of humor and conviviality.

The main program will run from Tuesday, June 25 to Sunday, June 30, chiefly in Tours (Indre-et-Loire), but also in Blois (Loir-et-Cher). Various preview events will also take place in April and May.

Le Clos Lucé, in the spotlight this year for the 500^th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death, will welcome Élisabeth Dumont on Saturday, April 13 at 3 p.m. to speak about the geometry of nature. The following Saturday, also at 3 p.m., our contributor Jean-Jacques Dupas will share his passion for polyhedra with you.

An evening at the Château de Meung-sur-Loire (Loiret), between Orléans and Blois, will be held on Saturday, May 11, featuring a talk by André Deledicq at 6:45 p.m., followed at 8 p.m. by a Will & Walt show entitled "Les preneurs de têtes". For the full program, visit nuitdesmaths.org/edition-2019.

The Maison des mathématiques de l'Ouest, which brings together mathematics outreach initiatives across Pays de la Loire, and the Résonnance association, which runs dance and theater workshops linked to science, spearheaded a project to establish a mathematics club at Le Lieu Unique, a performing arts venue in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique).
