The free talks run from October to April, one Saturday a month. They begin at 3 p.m. with 90 minutes of mathematics, followed by a friendly get-together over refreshments.
The organizing committee makes sure the topics cover the full range of contemporary mathematics. The talks are geared toward students in scientific preparatory programmes (post-secondary preparatory classes) and undergraduate mathematics students, but anyone interested is welcome: motivated high school students, teachers, enthusiasts… To attend, simply register at www.ihp.fr/fr/mathematic-park.
Since 2013, the talks have been filmed and made available on the CNRS channel carmin.tv at www.carmin.tv/fr/collections/seminaire-mathematic-park.
On March 16, Nathalie Ayi, a university lecturer and researcher who hosts the podcast "Tête-à-tête chercheuse(s)" (see Tangente 214, 2023), gave a talk on modeling how opinions spread through a population. The next session, "A Survey of the Circle Method," led by Margaret Bilu, will take place on April 27.
