The French edition of the game, published in 2011 by the Comité international des jeux mathématiques (CIJM), was unfortunately out of print. Since September 2025, the CIJM and Plaisir Maths have been offering a new, more compact edition (**cijm.org/jeu-de-hex/**). The new box contains a cardboard board (approximately A4 size) that folds in half to reveal a 9 × 9 board and an 11 × 11 board, 60 white counters, 60 black counters, and a sixteen-page booklet with a foreword by Hugo Duminil-Copin, covering the game's history and strategy and including problems and solutions.
"Hex is above all a fun, elegant and engrossing game. Two opponents face off, not through force, but through logic, intuition and strategy. With its extraordinarily simple rules and tactical richness, Hex offers a fascinating gateway to mathematical thinking." Hugo Duminil-Copin, 2022 Fields Medalist.

In the game shown opposite, White won.
