The aim behind this announcement is to raise the profile of mathematics and its applications among the general public and school students. Existing initiatives will be showcased, including Mathematics Week, the "Maths vivantes" forum and Digital Week. Teachers will have an opportunity to discover current mathematical research at one of 80 training days led by researchers.
One of the flagship initiatives of the Year of Mathematics is to compile a list of all mathematics events across France. Some are already included in the guide, which can be downloaded from eduscol.education.fr/maths2020. Organizers not listed are invited to publicize their initiative by writing to so that it can be promoted.
