This visitor attraction, dedicated to mathematics, brings together scientific and historical heritage.
The visit offers an opportunity to learn about the scholar's life and family history, explore his surroundings, house and library, discover his work as a magistrate, and gain an insight into his research. Visitors are then invited to use interactive exhibits to explore contemporary mathematics connected with Fermat's research, including optimization, number theory and probability. They can also discover Fermat's Last Theorem in comic-book form, along with an interview with Andrew Wiles conducted for the Fermat Museum.
A space devoted to temporary exhibitions is currently hosting "Entrez dans le monde de l'IA" (Enter the World of AI), created by the Fermat Science association.
Designed for families, with a dedicated area for children aged three to eight, this unique venue immerses visitors in the life of a 17th-century family. Its aim is to honor Pierre de Fermat's memory and share his passion for mathematics through an innovative space devoted to science and mathematics.
