The birth of a geometric passion ------------------------------------

"I never had any formal training in geometry! Today, I regularly sell antique photographs. I used to work in contemporary art — I painted and sculpted, but wasn't satisfied with the results; I'd hit a dead end. I thought long and hard, searching for a universal language. Geometry then became the obvious choice. I read and consulted a great many books. I also bought books on art and geometry (from the 16^th century to today). In doing so, I travelled back in time… all the way to the Neolithic! Through geometric patterns, I was able to study different civilizations. My idea is to build a family tree, showing in different ways how certain shapes overlap and share similarities."
