The octagon of time -------------------
Watches used to be generally round, or at a stretch oval; now here are some that are octagonal. Big Bang Sang Bleu — that's its name — by watchmaker Hublot, is a geometric figure in its own right. Not only is the case octagonal, but the dial itself is ringed with octagons and squares inscribed within one another and very delicately interwoven, for a highly special visual effect that Archimedes, the famous creator of isoperimetric figures, would not have disowned.
