AI and data fusion for innovative materials ----------------------------------------------------------
In 2014, a physicist (Johann Foucher), a computer scientist (Aurélien Labrosse), and a mathematician (Alexandre Dervillé) founded Pollen Metrology.
Their goal was to develop a sufficiently versatile technology, drawing on metrology and the analysis of sometimes confidential data supplied by their clients, to offer optimal and economically attractive solutions in any industry developing innovative materials (semiconductors, 3D printing, cosmetics, construction, transport, and more). Another difficulty is that long-established groups such as Intel and Samsung have their own in-house systems, some of them quite old, with which the technology must be compatible.
The startup, which now employs twenty-five people, including eight applied mathematics specialists, "raised" €2 million in 2017. It set itself the goal of meeting its remaining funding needs through a further investment of €6–8 million within a year. Its clients are located around the world, from the United States to India and Japan.
