It includes studies by Caroline Ehrhardt on the young scientist and his time, Catherine Goldstein on Hermite and Galois, Frédéric Brechenmacher on Jordan and Galois, and Tom Archibald on differential Galois theory (all four in English), as well as a highly original contribution (in French) by Anne-Gaëlle Weber and Andrea Albrecht, who examine "the literary and fictional treatment of Galois (or figures inspired by him) in French, German, English and American literature, and in works that played an essential role in transforming Galois into a fictional character".
