The Tangente Awards were founded to convey a message: mathematics is not confined to a ghetto; it is in constant dialogue with every sphere of human activity, enriching them by its very presence.
The magazine's team is particularly passionate about the relationship between mathematics and the arts—the focus of Tangente's "Bridges" section. So much so that six years ago it created two art prizes: the Tangente Book Prize, awarded to a book "that makes a wide audience eager to learn more about mathematics", and the Osc'Art Tangente, which showcases a work of art inspired by mathematics.
