Math City Map (mathcitymap.eu/fr) began as an educational project developed by a team of teachers at Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt, Germany. Its aim is to enable users to create and share mathematical questions linked to a place they visit: the weight of a statue, the capacity of a fountain, the height of a monument… Our surroundings offer many mathematical questions.
The website allows creators to record challenges and share them as part of rally-style trails. The tool is open to anyone who might wish to contribute, whether to play with their family, give colleagues practice solving puzzles, or simply create a "math trail" near home and make it available to everyone.
As a participant, all you need to do is download the app, choose a trail near you, go there (remembering to bring something to measure and calculate with), and start tackling the challenges. Levels follow the German school system and begin with first grade (level 1).
